Bordallo Pinheiro – Cabbage White Bowl 22.5cm

Portugal’s ceramics company  Bordallo Pinheiro  has a long and exciting history that began with the artist and 19th  century political disruptor, Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro. A major influencer back then.   

In 1884, he began a ceramics production in Caldas and the award winning and much copied home wares of Bordallo Pinheiro were born.

One of the signature collections is Cabbage, which was really the designer being playful by turning this lowly vegetable into an art form. He was really responsible for giving cabbage a style makeover. Nobody could resist it because seldom has the cabbage motif looked more inviting.
